6 Wonderful Dog Breeds You Might Not Know About

If you’ve ever wondered what kind of dog you might get as a pet, you’ve probably thought about the best breeds for a home. That list includes the most popular breeds. The name suggests a “papillon” is something you hold in your hands, but that’s not exactly accurate. The word refers to the two-wheeled chariot races that used to take place in France, and the word “papillon” is French for “butterfly.” That suggests a light, airy dog with wings, but no butterflys are ever on any of the Papillon’s feet. They’re more like airplanes than butterflies. With wingspans of 14 inches, the Papillon has the longest wingspan of any domestic dog, including the mastiff and dingo. They’re generally pretty sweet-natured dogs and tend to be quite playful. However, they can be stubborn, sometimes using their wings to fly through doggy doors or simply refusing to budge when told to go outside. Papillons have been bred for years to ensure their wings are not poisonous.
